They are absolutely stunning! Great job.

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Terrific pictures!!!! Isn't it amazing, those two big Black Dragon blooms? They almost look bigger than the plant!

Great growing :-)

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Prettiest BD plant I have seen. Congratulations.

Ft Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10a)

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I tried using the pool water as a background and kind of liked the way they came out. Those are the best "Black Dragon" blooms I've had on that plant. I'm happy when I get one Black Dragon bloom...let alone twins!! As we all know, its nice to get a good garden day. It makes it all worthwhile and keeps us motivated.
Here is one more photo from this afternoon (Mon Sept 22 2008). It's Hibiscus "Valentines Day".

Nice pictures, beautiful blooms. Black Dragon is one that caught me eye when it first came out, but I still haven't managed to get a hold of it. Your plant looks great.

Absolutely mouthwatering photos!

Winter Springs, FL

May I ask where you bought those hibiscus from? I never see any colors like that at the nurseries around here. They are so beautiful. Thanks, Dawn

Ft Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10a)

I know what you mean Dawn. I rarely see Hybrid Hibiscus at commonly known retailers. All of mine were purchased online. I can remember where most of them came from but not completely sure on a few. I have ordered from exotichibiscus.com (FL), hibiscusplace.com (FL), hiddenvalleyhibiscus.com (CA), hypnoticblooms.com (TX), logees.com (CT), triedandtruehibiscus.com (FL) and a couple of other sources.

Here are a couple new photos starting with Hibiscus "Simple Pleasures"

I have got to have Silver Memories. Anyone know where I can purchase it?

Mol, Belgium(Zone 8a)

That "Simple Pleasures" has the characteristics of a perfect hibiscus, floriferous and upright blooms.
Georgeus collection, congrats.

www.hibiscusplace.com carries 'Silver Memories' Looks like it's out of stock right now, but keep an eye out since it'll probably be back in stock eventually.

Ft Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10a)

I looked around also Fla Chick and I don't see Silver Memories currently available anywhere. If my memory is correct I believe I purchased it last summer from Hiddenvalleyhibiscus. I also purchased "Simple Pleasures" from them as it is one of their cultivators. Simple Pleasures has consistently had upright great form blooms for me. Like many/most varieties it doesn't bloom as often during the summer heat, but when it does its sure to make you happy. Here's a close up/closer look at "Simple Pleasures"

These blooms are just so extravagant! I love them!

Hi amorecuore, tell me the secret how to make it bloom when it is so small plant please :)

Ft Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10a)

I'm not aware of any secret to get it to bloom when the plant is small bolline. I realize there are some products called "bloom boosters" but I don't use any of those. The only thing I do is to use fertilizers at least once a month. Just making sure the plants are healthy goes a long way in terms of having good growth, production of flower buds and blooms instead of lots of "bud drops".

I think if you have one that was grown from cuttings or by grafting it may tend to bloom when it's smaller compared to something that's grown from seed. I've also noticed some of my plants will bloom when they're really small and others I have to be a little more patient with even though they're all healthy, etc. I wouldn't recommend bloom booster fertilizers, they are high in phosphorus which is great for most plants to encourage blooms, but hibiscus don't like to have a lot of phosphorus. I know that www.hiddenvalleyhibiscus.com sells fertilizer that's balanced properly for hibiscus and I'm sure some of the other growers do as well.

Many thanks for your valuable knowledge my friends :)
Happy Holidays !!!
