Dumb Question - maybe

Macon, IL(Zone 5b)

I know some of you have a photosanitary certificate - to whom does one apply to get one of these? Thanks - Karen

Karen, is this to export abroad? Ship out of state?....

Phytos are necessary to ship to foreign countries (some, maybe all) and you get it from USDA)....

Carol - no, not to ship out, but to receive in, as in David Liddle orders, or from Thailand, etc. Isn't a phyto necessary to broker an order from, for example, David Liddle? Thanks - Karen

Karen....what WE need to get an order into the country is an Import Permit. These are free and you apply for them(it) from USDA. You send your permit, which is a little tag with the address of the port of entry where your box will be sent to be inspected, to the shipper.

The phyto is gotten by the shipper when his/her shipment to you is inspected by 'their' powers that be and are declared clean.

Thanks, Mark!
