I was getting ready to order my tickets for Clinton Anderson who is a horse trainer. He will be in Phoenix in Nov, so I am looking at his site and run across a thing called a Chicken Tie Ring?
I am confused what it would be used for?

I'm just guessing, but you know how when your tryin to break a horse from "pulling back" or teaching a youngster to tie how you can use a tire or innertube to create some "give" as to not injure the horse's neck when they pull? I'm thinking these are along those lines.. something designed to stay loose or give under pressure.
I understand the use of an intertube, and I do have one of them fancy clinton anderson gadgets to help teach a horse to stand when tied, but chickens???? and this is made out of metal, so would that not hurt the chicken or Roo? Heck I just hold my chickens, they stand there... Unlike my mustang.

You have to wonder what kind of a person would tie a slip knot around a chickens neck. Seems to me that is asking for trouble. Maybe I'm being too judgemental.
i thought maybe it was a prank on his site, he was just being funny. i have been to shows and never seena chicken tied for grooming. also never heard of Durock chickens. but, i hit add to cart, and it did, for only 9.99 plus 8.99 shipping.

I thought it was a joke also. I can't imagine trying to tie a chicken around the neck. Seems like you're asking for trouble there... I've joked with DH about creating a harness to walk them around the neighborhood, but a metal ring...
Thats just cruel down here we have chicken fights and these birds are put on leads but its on thier foot and they are stacked out with only a piece of tin bent to a V for shelter. I've seen high as 100 birds and the true birds have long genetic backgrounds and names like Butcher, Bloody Butcher and i saw one sold for $1000.oo and thats low.
Yes it's illegal but it still happens and i see these birds at the sale and they have eyes missing and scares on thier heads.
um, i take it he's not jokeing but that is the STUPIDEST invention i have ever heard of or seen in my life. hello!!! a chicken is not a dog and a choker effect will not hold them still and they will hang their self soon as startled.
um when i groom my silkies and others i don't leave them tied to a twig to play hangman, ugg!!!! a tub or bucket of warm water, baby soap, baby oil and a baby brush is all that's needed, u dunk them and bath them like ya would a little kid except they soak ya worse than kid's do,lol
. OH!! and for silkies and showgirls can't forget the magic blow dryer that makes them sing, lmbo. this person needs to realize u sure don't groom a chicken the way u would milk a goat!!! sad so sad i hope people r not dumb enough to think that crazy invention could work. why on earth would he think that is safe? common sence would tell u it could not only cut off their air supply but also their feeding supply.

yes, cock fighting is illegal i think is all states but LA or one of those southern states down there. it is here to but still happens. i think that is cruel and sick and i'm glad it is illegal. the ones u see sold r retired winners that is a shame they r put through that and destroyed they could have been loveing gorgous pets but people r just ignorant.
