I'm new to plumerias and i have a few questions. I have a lot of plumerias the two in the ground have all green leaves and yet 10 in pots have yellow bottom leaves,i water at least once a week. Also the bloom falls of after 3 days {each new bloom} is that normal ,or do lizards knock them off.I have one plumeria that has wrikled leaves and i have seen a tiny green bug that runs fast, really tiny, not an aphid.I have been in FL for six years and don't recognise this bug. Any help would be appreciated.
yellowing bottom leaves
Yellow bottom leaves is normal if they are dropping at a slow rate. As new leaves come in, the old ones yellow and drop off. If they are dropping at a fast rate, it is possible that they are dropping for another reason such as not enough water, not good drainage, or colder temperatures at night. Watering once a week in the summer does not sound often enough to me, but how often to water really depends upon what size containers your trees are in and whether they are root bound and whether you are getting a lot of natural watering from rain there.
Different blooms have different "keeping qualities." Some flowers last longer on the inflo than others. I would just make sure that the trees are not getting too dry. Trees require more water while they are flowering.
Wrinkles leaves usually indicate a sucking insect. I would spray well with Neem or Safer's Insecticidal Soap in the evening when it is cool.
thank you Clare
From what I can see it looks to be a baby grasshopper?
