Ooooh ... Such pretty Morning Glories! Is that all the same plant? Wow! What a name to try to pronounce! I couldn't even begin to say it. Amazing how long some names are. Makes me wonder who came up with that one! Beautiful MG!
OH, thank you for the pictures of those morning glories.............darn it.........I am going to have to wait for spring and start all over with morning glories. I waited too long this summer and fall to get started because of the silly shingles. When we thought the storm was coming our way, my brother had to cut back all my morning glories and put the clay pots in the little building outside. (boo hoo)
Surely I have something outside blooming to take a picture of...........nothing liked those one day of gusty winds up to 50 mph the other day.

I am loving this cool weather, Sally....................yesterday was nice, too. I understand that tomorrow will be cool also. Heat is about the only thing that makes me miserable and makes the shingles act up, so I am in heaven..........even opened the windows and doors last night to air out the house...........did it again this morning.
What are you up to? I get to go to Ken's on FRiday. I have a dental appointment in SA...........going to- spend the night so I can come back through Seguin to another favorite nursery..............do you want anything from Ken???????????
Wow, Gail .. y'all are having cool enough weather that you can leave the windows open at night?Oh how I envy that! It's stil so durned hot here, and humid! We've had mid 90 temps the past couple of weeks with heat index above 100 every day! Nightime temps have still been upper 70's ... miserable! I can't wait for my DH to retire so we can live somewhere a little farther north in summer and come back to Florida for the winter!
Now ... don't forget to take your camera when you go to those nurseries! I remember your trip last spring! You had us all drooling over those beautiful nurseries!
Gail - which favorite nursery in Seguin? And, are you going to stay in the same hotel as last time, or will you be staying with your daughter in New Braunfels?
Oh, and yes, Lin . . . they're all on the same set of vines . . . no one flower is ever the same as the one next to it . . . as for the name, blame it on someone in Japan!

Well, I guess the only thing I really NEED would be those thick rubber bands for the leaf supports. They dry out. But they may not sell them alone. I know you will enjoy you visit at Ken's. It is always fun to see the plants. AND buy!!!

I didn't plant MGs this year, but have a couple volunteers that came up from last year. Nothing to even compare to those above, but here they are anyway. LOL
And a lighter colored one.
I had a light yellow Brug put out one bloom for me. I didn't catch it while it was fully open, but here it is anyway, because I'm so darn proud of it! LOL This Brug has survived the last two winters outside. It's coming into a full flush now with about 30 buds! I can't wait!

I have always loved the look of Morning Glories and now y'all are getting me hooked again! I might just have to plant some next spring. I think I will do like Gail and put them in containers with trellises. If planted in the yard down here they take over everything. Here is one (not a very pretty one) that has been here for years and years! I think the birds spread the seeds cause it is now in different areas of the yard, front, back and side.
Here it is scrambling all over some miniature azaleas in the front side yard ... can't even see the azaleas for the MG foliage.
Syrumani, those are some really nice morning glories. We have so many wild morning glories around here. If you’re not careful they take over the whole garden. Someday I hope to iradicate them and then plant some pretty hybrid MGs.
Rain, yours are nice too. I really like the star in the middle. Nice Brug….don’t you just love the smell when they’re in full bloom.
We’ve had quite a bit or rain in the last 2 weeks. I’m starting to think I might have to bring everything in early this year…..not from cold but to keep from rotting in their pots. HATE this time of year. It’s always a mad rush to find enough room, and deciding which plants are going to make the cut. I always end up feeling guilty about something.
It's also climbing up the Schefflera tree in the back yard.
Lin, we must have been typing at the same time. That's exactly what my MGs look like. They cover up everything!!!
These are all the wild ones growing here too. Taking over a bed of knock out roses (that need pruning!)
Now I am going to google MG's and make a list, LOL.
Rox: Yep, the wild ones. I don't think they really hurt anything, the vines are so thin. But if they cover completely a plant that needs a lot of light, I'm sure that plant would suffer some. I really like the idea of putting them in containers with a trellis to climb on! I remember Gail posting awhile back with some she had done that way and they really looked nice.
Oh, I can't imagine having to drag plants inside every winter! Our house is so small and cluttered as it is, not much room for plants. If I lived up north I would not have so many plants, that's for sure. Or I would have to have a very large, heated greenhouse!
Rox: If you have plants you can't find a place for during the winter you should consider selling them on the Marketplace!

Amy - these are great seed makers, and will save some for you, once they are ready!
Lin - these . . . really, any I. purpurea's would probably act like weeds if planted in the ground in your area . . . the I. nil's do not set as many seed, so may do better in the ground . . . I've got some seeds for various MG's . . . I'll look at my list when I get home from work tonite . . .

Another coleus picture.
I used to not be a coleus fan, but they are just so darn easy. You can let them wilt down to the ground and they come right back. I keep a lot in pots around the front porch and deck. When the weather gets hot and steamy and the flowers quit blooming, you've always got great color.
LOL.....Don't judge me......some day I'll finish painting the porch!!!
