I decided to start a new thread and show how my chicks have grown and show claire my new White face black spanish.
My chicks are growing
I put up a feeder to feed [up to high for chicks so i thought]Mama hen and look at these little boogers allready up to mischief
harmony, they are so sweet
Here's the white faced black spanish claire i'm posting a pic after this of a roo with the white on his face. These are very young and it will take at least another few months for them to have the large white ear lobes they will have.
Heres the roo he has a pea comb and the white you see will be become much larger as he grows.
These birds are so skitish i don't know what the former owner did to scare them but they just scream if you touch them [it was hard getting 2 pictures]

Oh Harmony, those chicks are just perfect! Little balls of pale blue fluff! It's a good thing I don't live too close to you or I'd be at your place every afternoon "Hi Harmony, can I just go look at your chicks please?" LOL That pic of them in the blue bowl really shows them off perfectly!
The white faced black Spanish are very handsome birds - especially the roo. He has a nice stance about him. The hens look a little bit like my seramas in shape, but longer.
Love the new quail OEGB too. Purdy birdy!
Claire i would welcome you i have nobody zip nada that just like raiseing these birds they either show or want to make a buck. We would talk and share stories and oh it would be grand but we have here to talk and share.
LOL I have often thought the same thing.. if we all lived close..
I am blessed that I'm in Lodi and Catscan is so close... Now if I could only quit my job.... and just do chicken stuff 24/7... ahhh to dream.
Harmony.. I would be soooooo lost without DG... It is such a regular part of my day to come check in, if only to read a few posts and go back to work..
I'm thankful for all your input.. I am learning so much!
Somebody posted from West Des Moines a while ago but I don't think I've seen her again since then. That's too bad.
It would be fun to have someone to visit with about chickens. :-)
