I inherited 3 healthy Brugs with my house about 10 years ago - all in the front yard. I'd like to do more edible landscaping and am wondering if it's safe to plant edibles such as blueberries and strawberries underneath them. One of the beds is fairly acid already - I've had good success with azaleas and camelias, so pH should not be an issue.

Planting nearby edibles?
The brugs won't hurt the edibles or the other way around but they probably won't like the acid soil that the others like. If you really want them there, keep them in a pot so they can have the ph they like.

Do not plant tomatos near them. They don't work out.
