Hibiscus (Gloria) having back problems

Watertown, NY

I have been missing Gloria so finally emailed her today to see what was going on. I got an email back from her husband saying that she had injured her back and her pain is so bad she can't get to the computer. We all need to send up a prayer and or keep her in our positive thoughts.

I'm sorry to hear about Gloria's back problem. I hope she gets better soon.

Ladies, I'm not sure I know Gloria, but I am sure she would rather be chatting it up on Daves or out in the flowers... Gloria, hope it's not too painful and you are able to move around with ease, very soon. Bet DH is taking good care of you.

Sending well wishes for you to feel better soon.

Well.. Gloria... hope the back is better ..if not.. PLEASE...go to the accupuncturist..if one is available in your area...or get driven to one...andfor others.. remember this and give it a try... these skellital pains can be just pinched nerves.... butthe nerve.. once fired up with a moment of pain...astrange movment.. or whatever caused it...gets sencitive...or locked on to a pain reaction..long after the causeing item is there.. the nerve keeps sending out the pain responce... just because it was so activated... perhaps just for a moment... but it feelsfor the world like it's stilll there...accupuncture is like the big red button on the back of old appliances.. havinga treatment is like hitting the reset button.. it erases the hyperactive pain responce... and then your body can determine if there is still a pain inducing condition.. OR NOT....
I'd have a back bothered pain sometimes.. once it was so bad.. it took 20 minutes... of agony.. and constant work .. trying one way then another to get from a position of laying on the floor.. to standing up.. had I believed this was to be a continual condition.. of if had gone on much longer... I'd have opted for a head first run out the window..first choice... or allowed any silly operation that might have been suggested...or most any medication to remove it..so..after the battle to become standing.. working this way and that to get it done... the next day I went into the accupuncturist... a guy I'd seen as a chiropractor a few times before..Icould barely walk..and the pain was immense... I lay down on my face.. and he put a few of the tinyest needles in afew points in my back... most went it like grabbing a single hair and wiggleing it ...that was what the needle felt like..one needle he put in..felt like it was a 2" dia. steel rod... hot out of the furnace... 12' tall...and there he was ...swaying back and forth on the top of it...unbelieveable....he had me lay there for maybe 15 minutes... with the needles in there.. and a warm towel over them.... then he came in ... twirled each one and removed it... after the trereatment ...I felt very very cold.. over my entire body.. inside and out.. I went home and relaxed.. perhpas a nap...and awoke without any pain... so much so the next day I was out playing golf... which is just a twisting swinging motion over and over with a great deal of applied force...... the visit was the closest to a religeous physical awakening I have ever experienced...
so before medication... operations... physical thearipy or other western interventions... give it a try... have him hit that reset button... and get an entirely new start.. awaken a new life..
sorry.. I shouldn't prescribe... but like other religeous experiences.. I just have to tell it's story...
All the best there... Gordon

I agree Gordon, a lot more "user" friendly approach.. worth a try before invasive spinal surgery, which there are many life-altering complications that could arrise. You can step up on the soap box anytime. I always value your opinion.
