Aruba now has 3 friends!!

Reedsburg, WI(Zone 4b)

I posted a few times about Aruba (my parakeet) back in April/May. Since then I have gotten 3 more!

I also frequent a parakeet forum and in July a lady started posting that she didn't know what she was going to do because she had gotten two parakeets in May and her live in BF seemed to be very allergic to them. We had a few PM's (private message much like D-mail) and she also lives in WI. I ended up adopting them in August. They were named Kirby and Yoshi but she said they didn't respond to their names at all and we fine if I wanted to change them.

I decided to name them Caico and Antigua. (you know, more Caribbean Islands :) ) Neither was very hand trained, and they were stuck in a cage WAY to small for two birds-one not really big enough for one bird IMO.

I got another cage identical to Aruba's and put the cages side by side. They have side doors and once the birds were getting along well, I clipped the two cages together with the side doors open so that the birds could go freely between the two cages all day long.

They all got along very well right away and were together by day 2!! Aruba just loved having friends.

The next weekend DH and I were near Madison and decided to stop by PetSmart for some supplies I needed. I started looking at the Parakeets while he was looking at stuff for his fish. I fell in love with a black/gray one!! You don't see that coloring often and I just kept watching him. When DH came over to find me, he ended up telling me that if I wanted him, I should just get him--AND I DID!!

His (he is very young but we are fairly sure he is a he) name is Cayman. After a couple of weeks, I introduced Cayman to "the big boys" and they all 4 get along wonderfully!!!

Sorry that was such a long post but I had to fill you in on the happenings!!

Here is a picture of the 4 of them: (from l-r, Cayman, Aruba, Antigua and Caico)
