I planted a saucer magnolia this past spring. It bloomed, leafed out, did fine for a while, but then struggled during the drought before finally dropping all its leaves in early August. I had almost given up on it when it started leafing out again a week or so ago. Today there are two big blooms on it. Is that normal, or is it from being stressed all summer? Is this its last gasp before finally kicking the bucket? I've never grown one of these before, so for all I know it's just doing its normal thing.
Saucer magnolia is blooming again. Is that normal?
They do that from time to time; at least mine did. The drought was probably hard on it but don't give up on it yet,
Mine did something very similar last summer.
This year it also did a little reprise in August.

There is one at my church that always blooms twice a year. One season, blooms are white. The next season, they are pink!
Glad to hear it's not totally abnormal. Now I have a couple blossoms on my peach tree. My trees are a little confused!
