Ageratum

zone 7, TX

My Ageratum (maybe its West texas Mist flower)grew to over 6 foot this year! I've been growing it around the house for several years, but its never grown this tall! Its always been less than 3 feet tall! But this year I mulched
heavily with horse manure and sawdust compost. This year its facing west. Does anyone know what kind I have? The flower looks like'Frostweed's" picture above. Thanks for your
help.

Ladybeetle, I can't tell which picture you are referring to, is your bloom blue? or is it white?

Well it could be this one, West Texas Mist Flower, Conoclinium greggii, blooms all summer, has very divided leaves.

or East Texas Mist Flower, Conoclinium coelestinum, blooms in the fall, the leaves are pointed and serrated.

We call them West and East because it makes it easier to identify them, I hope this helps.
Which one do you think you have?

Well, looks like I own both those plants. But then ,tropical annual Floss flower,Ageratum looks like it also. Mine is over 6 foot tall lin some places. I will try and learn
how to put pictures on here.

That would be helpful since it is so hard to tell otherwise.
One thing i am sure of, and that is they are beautiful and the butterflies love them too.
