This is the first bloom for me to post here, but my third year of addiction to the Brugmansias.
I have had this beauty for two years now and this is the first flush. I was given several cuttings which were suppose to be whites or yellows (NOID). But this one is more of an orange.
If anyone would have any idea what she is called I would really apreciate it.
Thank you for help
ID Please ......
That is a beautiful noid, I don’t know who she is but her color is gorgeous.
Donna
kenanne, there are so many look alikes and they can't be identified by flower alone. It's best to let yours remain a beautiful NOID.
Thank you Donna & Betty
I was just curious about a name that might be close.
I am enjoying the beautiful scent right now. AHHHH!
Just enjoy her, she is absolutely gorgeous!
kenenne, i have one just like it, its a "DR SUESS"
werewolf1,
Color alone can't be used to ID a Brug especially since color is influenced by many things including temperature, fertilizer, age of plant among other things. All that is seen in the photo is the bottom and inside of the skirt. Too many Brugs have the same color and skirt form. The calx, neck (if any), flower shape, corolla, etc can not be seen and would help in IDing. Because there are so many look-alikes, we would be adding to the confusion by mis-identifying a NOID. When you have some time to spare, take a look at the photos in the Brugmansia section of the PlantFiles. Every so often you'll come across photos of Brugs that have obviously be IDed incorrectly. It's not done deliberately but somewhere between the original mother plant and the current owner, labels must have been switched or faded and mistakes made. Having said that, I would be leery of e-Bay purchases from unknown sellers or sellers who deliberately sell cheaper plants under the name of a more expensive hybrid. I keep telling myself I need to keep track of what I purchase from whom, but haven't done it. With PayPal, you can go back a year.
Right now I have a pretty little Brug I purchased as a cutting through e-Bay over a year ago. The cutting were supposed to have been Mountain Magic. Of the three cuttings I received, only one survived and thrived. I was so thrilled when it produced it's first three buds, but when the first flower opened, I knew I didn't have MM. It has been blooming most of the summer. It's had at least 4 small flushes (It's still a small plant.). It continued to bloom even through the unusually hot and dry summer we had (Hotter and longer than usual here in central Texas.) so I plan to keep it. I can't call it MM because it's obviously not. It resembles Lemon Twist, but I will have to enjoy it as a pretty little yellow noid.
