This is the rist flush of Miss Emily McKenzie on the first year that i grow this plant.
Next to it on one-gallon containers are a couple of Dorthea brugs that already have some buds on them so I can't wait to see how those bloom!
First flush of Miss Emily McKenzie
Where can I get one of these? (Miss Emily McKenzie)

Your MEM flush is so beautiful and as it matures, it will gets bigger and better. You will find she tends to give one big show after another with those large flowers. If I could only have one brug. it would be this one.

I have two MEM cuttings coming my way. I am soooo excited!
Could someone suggest the best garden catalogue for ordering a wide variety of brugs? I am anxious to get into these------but in this area, the choice is very limited. I would love to get a start of Miss Emily McKenzie.

Shirley,
Country Garden is a great nursery. Just check the link above posted by Greeenthumb.
Thanks----will try to figure out how to contact them.
Shirleyd
And, I did. Thanks to all of you for your help. Not only am I poor at following instructions-----I don't always notice them. My 76 years have taken their toll. But, I plan to have more brugs next year!. Should I order now or wait till spring?
Shirleyd
Shirley, why don't you send an email to them? They may still have a sale going on. At this time of the year many growers sell their plants cheaper.
i ordered some from them last week so I don't know what they have available.

this is the sale list. you can get them very cheap and they are very well grown, healthy plants. worth it!!!
Thanks a million for all the info and help. I will try to place an order immediately. I wish that I could call and order---------

I have emailed Country Garden about ordering instructions. I am very anxious to take advantage of their sale on brugs. Do they usually answer immediately?
Shirleyd
Shirley, they should answer it today.

Bubba1 and emh48----have just located it and thrilled. Now, if I can just figure out how to order it. The postage is confusing to me------but, perhaps I can find someone who can help.
Shirleyd
Shirley,
you just click to order and then type in your address, then you confirm. Country Gardens will come back to you with the shipping price included.
If you want more than one, you do it again and your order will be combined by them when they send you the total.
Thanks so much. Now I am off to the Miss. State vs. Auburn football game. It should be hot as hades!!

I have an old garden-----and have had two clumps of brugs for a long time. Do they multiply? It seems that the clumps are getting larger and larger------am I supposed to thin them? spring? fall? Also, which varieties with stand Mississippi heat and humidity best? My blooms do a lot of drooping.
Thanks for any advice,
Shirleyd
You are doing better than I. I actually just started growing brugs this season. I have two I purchased from fellow dgardeners. The first I got is supposed to be white. I put it in a pot and put it outside where it gets morning sun. The second was the Miss Emily McKenzie. When I receive this particular plant it was very tall, but all the leaves are at the top of the plant. I was hoping the rest of the stem would fill out because the white one replaced its dropped leaves. But it didn't. And neither one of them seem to have grown much, just put out a few new leaves. Which is good because the spider mites are getting the lower leaves and working their way up. I am considering cutting Miss Emily Mckenzie in half when I bring it in for winter and rooting the top with root powder. That way I would have two plants and maybe they would both fill out. Any thoughts?
