night time brugs

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

I don't usually post my night time Brug pictures... but here's a few with the lights marking the location of the World Trade Towers... where they last stood... so that we might remember... they shine these lights into heaven this time of year.. so they know we remember ....
Gordon

Thank you for posting Gordon, judging by many comments out there in the general public, I think too many have forgotten:(.

Thanks Gordon, we must all remember. It's times like this that puts everything into perspective, all the little things are small.

I look at that ...and feel the pain ...we all did ...even now and from so far away from you ...we feel the pain. Those photos are so heart tugging ...we send all of our American friends a big hug ...yes it's coming up too soon ... another September day that reminds us of awful loss ...and yet so much love.
I look at your beautiful picture and feel both.

Thank you for posting such beautiful pictures.

Gordon, Thank You. I hope you post it every year.. I know I remember my disbelief as that morning unfolded.. I thought it was the radio station morning show pulling a prank on us.. and then the realization, the reality of what was happening and just an inkling in the beginning of the impact it would have on us all. Later that day, I felt so vulnerable and helpless. I just wanted my kids all at home together with me, it comforted me and we spent many hours watching the coverage and crying and praying.. that's all we could do. Brings tears to my eyes, now...I will never forget the ugliness of it and the beauty of human compassion as stories of heroism and selfless sacrifice came to light.
Is Ollie the name of that darling little girl? I got's to find me one! I love how she glows and a small plant! Loaded with blooms! I love her!!

Gordon - tearing up as I do every time...thank you for such great photos! I can't even imagine with you being so close...I know how it felt being 30 min's from DC...still so very, very sad....

Lewiston, CA(Zone 7b)

Beautiful pics, & I agree, you should post them every year. I can't imagine being that close to where that happened. It was bad enough being out here in CA & just seeing it unfold on TV.
Thank-x for posting it!

Thanks for posting those photos, Gordon. We can't let ourselves forget that horrific day. It's still difficult to think about that day without chocking and tearing up. That second one gives me goosebumps. What a poster that would make! Honest!

I hope you keep posting them every year. It had to have been traumatic to be that close.

South Coast, RI(Zone 6b)

Beautiful photos Gordon
I hope you post them every year, as I hope NYC will continue to shine the lights. We need to remember this and keep all of those lost in our hearts.

Thank you Gordon!

Hey Gordon,
I think posting these pictures was in great taste. I tried to re-enlist after 911, and was told I was too old. I looked for another way to serve my country and became a teacher. One thing we can all do is to remember those who died and hold onto the memory of that day. I hope everyone will post their pics of the lights so we never forget. I hope NYC continues to light the lights long after we are forgotten, that every American will remember...

Gordon, as a New Yorker, like you, tomorrow will be very hard remembering all of those wonderful people that lost their lives. I have been following this thread and now I can post something. I can say that you really should do this yearly so that other people outside of our ""NY" or "DC" or "VA" can experience what you and I went through. Anyway my prayers are with all of those lost souls, wish this would have never happened!

That day changed the World and it will never be the same again ...thoughts and prayers from down under to everyone who still hurts and thinks people will forget ...no not ever.
It is a a most beautiful sight to behold looking out from your garden ...it softens the stark stab of emotion that pierces the heart as we gaze ...
