Hurricane season always brings love bugs to the east Texas area, much to the delight of the car wash businesses. Well, we are in the big middle of it. A trip yesterday totally blacked out the front license plate as many of these bugs commited suicide by truck.
Although we encounter a few after dark, I had always wondered where they went at night. This morning early, I caught this photo...
Love Bugs... Where do they spend the nite?
Does anyone have any easy ideas for cleaning their remains off the vehicle? LOL
This is definitely NOT politically correct but my little momma used to clean her entire car with "coal oil" back in the 60's. Just a little on a rag would take anything off the car.
Now there is a thought! Many people around here coat theirs with Pam. Yuk! How are you feeling?
Much better, thank you. 4 weeks tomorrow. Longest time I have been still in my entire life!!
Hope everything is coming along on the shed. Still sorry about that. Your attitude is very up-lifting and helpful to all of us.
Being forced to stay still stinks, doesn't it LouC? I had my hip replaced July 15 and the darn thing still bothers me and that is all on top of being sicker than You-know-what last year. Don't like being down and out.....................

Hey Ann!! We may be temporarily down but sure don't count us out.
Doc told me before this procedure that I would have some less mobility. Goes on to say that if I were 16 it would be a problem but "at your age" it will hardly be noticeable. Now just who does he think he is talking to??? He doesn't know me or you at all. We're not out until WE decide so. Just keep chanting: I'm not out, this is just temporary, I'm not out, this is just temporary, I'm not.......
It's the only way!

LouC and plantladyhou, I know how you feel. I went in to get new perscription for glasses as I was having trouble seeing to needlepoint. The eye doctor told me that there comes a point in time that we "ladies" have to give up certain activities due to eye sight problems. I told him just what I thought of that idea. Needless to say I won't be going to see him again! I couldn't tell if he thought that was a joke or not. I know its not as bad as not moving around much (I've been there too), but really! Give up needlepoint? Grumble, grumble!
Podster, no love bugs in sight in NE Texas. We'll see by Saturday when the effects of the latest hurricane are predicted to influence our weather. When I lived in FL I used to use orange oil or citrus oil. DH thought it would damage the paint, so I only ever used it on the grill and license plate and rinsed ALOT! That was almost 20 years ago, though. Don't know if that is still a recommended use of those products (kind of like to coal oil).
