My tropicals, both brugs and hibs, were severely infested with spider mites. I've sprayed 3 times at half tsp strength in the last 3 weeks and am happy to say that everything is looking 100 x's better. I sprayed for the third and last time this evening only because there were about 4 of the brugs that were still pale. I've fed and epsom salted (lol) and now am thinking about Forbid. I have some and unfortunately like the Avid I've lost the instructions.
Can anyone one tell me the use for Forbid, like how much and when and how often should I use it?
Also coolest thing, I went out to one of the flower beds and where I have a large stand of 4 o'clocks there are about a half dozen hummingbirds working them over. It was so neat to see. I hadn't really seen any hummingbirds this year, I wonder where they were hiding, lol. Wish I had a camera that could capture it all.

Forbid on Brugs
Since a misremembered dosage amount could have a really disappointing effect, I usually check online to pull up the label of any chemical I might want to use in the garden. If you google "Forbid Miticide", the first entry that comes up for me will link you to the label itself and all the bits of info it's prudent to read at least once.
Best wishes making your mites go away.
I was told to mix coors beer and listerine and spray on my mites. Wow it worked. So far they are not back, but its damp weather here right now. Got a burg fixin to bloom that has about 8 buds.

I haven't used my Avid in years----------as I discovered that a strong spray of water from my hose on the bottom side of the leaves for several days straight was just as effective. And, it is a lot cheaper.

Forbid takes 1/8 teaspoon to a gallon of water.
I have found no amount of water sprayed on mine did more then wash them from one plant to another. I used forbid last year and I was mite free the rest of the summer. I have not had to use it this year. We have had so much rain the mites have moved on to dryer pastures.
Yes, I usually can wash off the "pepper" off of my hibiscus buds but this year they just climbed right back up. And no amount of attention, watering, feeding, or dusting fixed the brugs. Most of my brugs and hibs look wonderfully better after the Avid, however I came home this evening and the leaves on one of my smaller brugs was turned/twisted itself upside down. There were little white things and when I touched one of them it moved. So, though the Avid was mostly successful it wasn't 100% so Fri before I go out of town I'm starting with the Forbid. Hopefully that will work on the remainder.
If you have white flies then the forbid will work on them. They are harder to get rid of you will need to do at least one follow up for those nasty critters. Sometimes takes three hits to get them all gone. I live in NNY where we do not have them, but I brought them home from Alabama at last swap. We have had a hard time getting rid of them. Same thing happened last year. i finally left my plants out for one or two light frost and got rid of them.
I actually think they came home with me in the soil around the plants I brought home. It was even too early for them when I was there in April.
