This article from Harper's Magazine is good read with lessons for the world. Enlightening, a dash of humor, thought provoking.....something for everyone.

It focuses on how Cuba survived when 30 years of subsidies ended with the fall of the Eastern Bloc. There was no food, no fuel or parts for tractors, no pesticides. The world ended as they knew it. It also discusses some ag issues in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

I've been reading on the subject of sustainable ag and I'm coming to the conclusion that it's the only way to feed the world. I guess most of you already got it.
