hey there, is this a single plant ??

Hi angier, yes it is a single plant that got to be about 4' high and 2' across. As you may be aware, this is a vigourous reseeder, also. Little babies pop up everywhere! It thrives in our Texas heat without even a whimper, blooming from early spring and barely slowing down for the winter. I cut it way back and moved it because it was just too big for the spot I had it (it was about 6" tall when I planted it) and it is already putting out blooms again. I have it in direct sun all day.

wow they do get large...and it's how old ?? i just planted several of these in a bed that i started from seed, so they are still quite small...

I took that particular plant from my last house where I had it planted in part shade. It was probably 6" tall when I moved it (not sure if it was from seed that particular year or not), but it grew from that 6" to the size in the picture in one summer. I think the direct sun had a big impact on it's size. The soil might have been better amended as well. Rabbit manure is wonderful! I put it in everything, beds and pots alike.

i've read about rabbit manure and have wanted to try it. but i have no access to it !!

It took me a bit of time to do some research and find a rabbit breeder near me. We actually were able to shovel a whole trailer load to take for only $20. You could do a google search and see if there are any breeders in your area. They are not likely to advertise to the general public unless they are trying to sell rabbit meat!

ok, thanks for the suggestion !! (except my husband is about tired of hearing about all the things i think i need for the garden haha)
