I've got 4 Sinningias but I have never taken cuttings. How hard are they to root? Do you start them in soil or 50/50 perlite/vermiculite? Covered/Uncovered?
Please help!!!
Also, is there any other way to propagate besides tip cuttings? Can you cut a dormant tuber and leave an eye on it........like a potatoe? Would just a leaf grow a tuber?
I'm hoping there's someone who can help. I'd like to be able to propagate them for trading.

How do you propagate Sinningias?
you can pot them up and put them under a dome or a baggie, make sure you leave
some growth on it or it might become a blind tuber, which means it will still be alive but
will never put out a sprout again, sinningias are easy to take cuttings from ,
with the exception of species, some of them are ok but some just wont take

Thanks Jim......but my little pea brain doesn't understand. LOL Did you mean potting up pieces of the tuber?
Rox
I have successfully propagated sinningia 'Peridots Darth Vader' which I believe is the variety you are showing from leaf cuttings. Same method as you would an african violet leaf.

no cut some of the plant and pot it up
JIM
cut the very top of the plant off & pot it up & cover until it is established.leave a little of the stem on the tuber, so it does not go blind.you can also pot up leaves, but it takes forever & again you could have a blind tuber, they are very easy to propigate.
