marjolein from the netherlands - unfortunately, I do not think I will be able to ship to you or trade. All is not lost, however, as perhaps there is a Dave's member that wants to trade with you that will SASE me for the seeds.
Elsa, I would try the SASE but have no confidence in success as I have no knowledge of shipping to South Africa and no confidence in the results. You may want to follow the suggestion above.
The fruit of the Litchi tomato is structured very much like a Physallis (ground cherry or tomatillo). I have tasted and eaten in small quantities, but the scary appearance of the fruit, plant and family that it belongs to has me cautious. Fruit is sweet and mild tasting, somewhat berry like or similar to a bland red tomato but sweet. I have tried to do research on the net to find out more about it, but due to the tropical fruit of similar name, can't find much.
Imzadi, Unfortunately I am one of those people that cannot eat hot peppers. I actually get blisters from them in my mouth, even the mild ones. I will still send you seeds for SASE. Let's take this to d-mail to see what we can do.
marjolein (bartjestuin),
I will be your go-between for the Litchi tomato. Just send some Pheasant's Eye seeds to me.
krowten,
Please send two seed packets to me in one SASE, which I'm going to send to you.
There. That takes care of that (provied that krowten is willing...)
Brightstar, I'll be happy to comply - seems like everybody benefits this way.
krowten, I would appreciate two packets of the Litchi tomato, one for me and one for friends. I have a large number of Heirloom Tomato varieties to choose from, if you are interested. I am still in the process of tomato seed saving and will be for several more weeks. I have Jolly Jester Marigolds, an old French variety, grown by Thomas Jefferson in 1790, Some Iran Squash Seed somewhat rare, and some melon seed.
I look foward to hearing from you.
