Well, I brought in my 50 hanging baskets and pots of bougainvillea and mandevilla before the hurricane hit. They did not like being inside for 4 days without water. Couldn't water then as they sat on my wood floor. Crazy me didn't think to put down some plastic bags. I was too worried about packing, etc.
I lost tons of leaves, but I just trimmed them back and hope they will come back. We'll see. Maybe I shouldn't have trimmed them, but they were getting 4-5 ft.long. At least I'll know whether I can continue with them every season, because evey season we have to leave for a hurricane. Oh well - I'm sure they'll come back.
The Mandevillas fared beautifully. They flowered while they were inside too. I had to rip some of the vines off because they were wrapped around the balusters on the porch, but they did just great!
