I have had this plant since tiny babyhood. It is a nice size and and bloomed. But the blooms don't look like the pic. and desription on first class.
Is this Creole Royal???
Why don't you think it is right.? It fits my first class description. The variegation changes as the individual conditions do.........yours is mainly on the outer edge.
She's a Beauty for sure! I see only one photo in plant files but it is listed as Creole Royale and the blooms are darker purple: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/131561/
Is it the same one? Plant Files could use a few more photo's!
Creole Royale (5852) 11/07/1984 (B. Sisk) Double red/white edge. Variegated, plain, pointed. Large (DAVS 747)
Gee, now I am really confused. How true are the colors on yours, Sally????? Are they red and white or pink and white????
That photo in PF may be wrong. It sure looks like those flowers are purple to me but the description says Creole Royale has RED blooms!
Yes, I have had blooms change on several plants, but this is really different. The leaves sure look right.
Not sure what to think. Not sure where I got it, but I sure love it! You can't find the plant on google etc.
Go to the AVSA page and look at their blooms for the plant. Just google AVSA and it will pop up.
Thanks. I forgot about that place. Well, not sure what to think. I have repotted it, I could have messed up! I really like to know names, so it is bothering me, but hopefully I will be able to figure it out.
I found it in the AVSA photo's: http://www.avsa.org/Photographs/CreoleRoyaleLrg.jpg#http://../Photographs/CreoleRoyaleLrg.jpg%23
It sure is a beauty and I had forgotten about how some flowers do change color as the plant matures. Keep us updated on yours Sally.
Could have sported, maybe it will change. We shall see. It is really nice though.
