Wanted to say thank-you to "Fancyvan" for her wonderful hospitality on the holiday Monday!
I am originally from Calgary, but have been living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the past 7 years. 60 miles east of New Orleans.
Having crossed paths with Carol on a few different threads, she graciously invited me to visit her and her beautiful gardens while I was back in Calgary for August, (and now since hurricane Gustov it has been extended into September!)
I wanted to share some of the photo's of her beautiful award winning gardens

Visiting Calgary
You're welcome!
BTW Fancy is just Fancy not Fancyvan! LOL!
And of course any DGers passing thru Calgary are very welcome to visit!
Awww, I liked Fancyvan better! tee hee
Great pics. What do you do with a Hen n'Chick ball in the winter?
Ann
I found the thread Carol had mentioned they set up when they created the Hen n'Chick balls. Sounds like it would need to come in for the winter.

I sooo want to try one for my southern garden!
Thank you for sharing the beauty of Carol's yard with us Cathy. :)
Two years ago I had the treat of seeing her yard. It was gorgeous in the spring and it's a real treat to see it again in it's summer finery.

Pam I posted new pics in my blog here under Winning gardens tour 2008.
Thanks Carol.....I'll be taking a longer peek in a couple of hours (I've got a lot of cucumbers to pickle again).
Carol I just took a peek and it's spectacular! Your Clematis is to die for and I really admired the shady sitting area near your veggie patch (as well as the cute teapot? garden planter). My mind is fried right now (last batch of pickles is going) but I had to take a look and it was a wonderful escape (will have to make mine look *something* like yours someday). (well for that matter I'd be happy for just the non-weed look......the rest will take much longer).
