What are the tiny rust colored spots?

This summer I've fought mites long and hard. Now a couple of the brugs have lots of little tiny rust colored spots that smear on my fingers when I wipe it away. What is it and what do I do for it?

It sounds like aphids?? Not an expert here. Rust?

sounds like rust.. but I've never had it..
