This is truly a shock to read of Trois' passing. I will miss his posts and his attendance at the plant swaps. However most of all we will all miss his wonderful photos he has provided over the years. I will always think of him with the camera hanging around his neck.
My heart goes out to Barbara and the rest of the family. My thoughts and prayers to you at this sad time. He will definately be missed by his Dave's Garden family.

Robert and I send our condolences to Trois' family as well. He and Robert had a good conversation at the CS RU in April, and Robert commented that he was a very friendly and interesting person. He will be greatly missed!

I was just wondering whether anyone was thinking of sending some flowers or a card from us Dgers?

Kim

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Nice thought Kim. Email using the address Gabriel left in the other dmail link above; ask what we could do. I would think it would be too late for sending flowers by the time we got the word out and collections made. Perhaps he may have had a special chairity or even a hospice that could use a donation in his name.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Please let me know. We'd like to contribute.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Me, too.

Such a shame! I remember him from the RU and his posts. What a dear man! He'll be missed by many, I'm sure.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I loved Trois, he was so generous, I will never forget the first Rounup I went to on lake Texoma.
He came all the way from south Texas and brought the catfish that he caught from his lake and prepared and cooked for us, it was the most wonderful catfish.
He was a very loving person with a great sense of humor, and also a great photographer.
I will miss him greatly, he will leave a big void in the heart of the DG family.
Josephine.

I have sent an email and will let you all know what I find out. My father was especially sad to hear of this news today. My dad loves to take pictures, and really enjoyed speaking with Trois at the Ft Worth and CS roundups about his photography and listening to his stories. It just goes to show that we all need to remember to appreciate the people around us every day, because we never know what meeting will be our last.

Oh my...I'm so sad to hear this. I was looking forward to talking to him again at our upcoming swap. I'm glad that I sat with him last year and told him how I envied his wonderful pictures. He was such a sweet man. We have all been blessed to have been part of his life.

My prayers for peace and comfort go out to his family. He will never be forgotten here.

Trois will be missed.

An ancient Chinese tradition (practiced by Confucius) was to morn a person by doing what they did for a period of time. I will have to bring my camera to the next roundup.

Bless you, Trois.

I was so scared to open this thread when I saw the subject. I see my fears were not misplaced. This is so sad. I am in tears. Like Frostweed, I remember meeting Trois and Barbara for the first time up at Texoma. We had a little mini get together up there the day before the big swap and I remember first meeting him there. I really treasure the time spent with him there and in Arlington. I wish I could reach out and wrap my arms around Barbara. She is such a sweet spunky lady and I feel for her and they rest of the family.

Missouri City, TX

Glad we had a chance to meet Trois, share his pictures and the RU's.

We will add our prayers and blessings with the other DG'ers for his family.

What a shock! I was just thinking a few days ago that I hadn't "seen" him here lately, wondered if he was alright. I'll never forget the first time I met him, at the first TX RU, in Kerrville. I already admired him through his photography, and it was a delight to meet him and Barbara in person, to come to admire him all the more after getting to talk to him. What a special man.

My prayers are with your whole family, especially Barbara.

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, this is really sad. I am so glad I gave him a hug at the last RU in CS. He seemed like one of those people who could never have had a negative thought about anybody ever. Barbara if you're reading this, know that we are all praying for you. I hope you can still come to the RU's.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

I just read this thread with much sadness. Trois will be missed by so many. He was a wonderful man ... the kind you do not get to meet often and the kind that that will always be remembered with love and admiration. I feel so fortunate to have met Trois and Barbara in person at one of the RUs. Even if you never met him, you feel like you know him personally through his magnificent photos and wonderful posts. I will be donating to the American Cancer Society which is helping my daughter in so many ways in her struggle against cancer. May the ponds in heaven be full of fish, the landscape full of wildlife and the gardens brimmed with beautiful plants for Trois to enjoy. My send my sympathy and prayers for his family and friends.
