Anyone actually get anything from freecycle?

Once in a while I see something I like and someone always gets it other than me. Making me mad. The latest was someone had a granite slab around 31" X 52" 1 inch thick. I thought I could make a garden bench out of it or something like that. Didn't get it. How many people could want a rough cut granite piece???

I'm starting to think it's not worth even looking through the list. Of course the price is right, free.

It's really luck of the draw, you win some, you lose some.I have gotten a nice china cabinet, perfectly fine cell phone, and lots of gardening items.

Scored me the granite. Need to figure out how I'm going to pick it up. It's got to be heavy.

Trent, freecycle is a forum where you post of items that are free for people to pick up or you can ask if anyone has an certian item to give away.

I haven't tried frrecycle but I have got some great freebie off Craig's List.
That is where I found NC States recycle pot program.

Here's what I got plus a 15 speed beach that seems to work alright.

That is cool. My son uses freecycle and craigs list all the time and has gotten some fantastic stuff. Most recently he got about 2 dozen of the sink cutouts from a granite place to use as stepping stones. They are much, much smaller than the slab you scored and they are all different sizes and colors but they are neat.

I thought about that and called a stone place. They wouldn't give them away. My thought was to face an outdoor fireplace with the odd colors. They're kind of slick for stepping stones.

WIll says only one side was polished, the other was rougher.
