Want to put a link to plant files on trades list.

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

I just got done updating my trades. How do I put a link to plant files? I can not find anything on the F.A.Q. Where do I find the directions? Or can some one just explain it to me? Thanks.. Ronna :)

If the name is recognized it should link it automatically, are you checking the entry in your list when you're done? Sometimes you need to clarify your entry, and it will prompt you for answers. If still no link, bring up the plant file page you want, copy the link from your browser and paste it in the text/comments box

After you add a plant, it should give you the option to view your tradelist--then it will ask you the questions, also giving you an option to add a photo, edit or delete. This doesn't show up if you just view your tradelist. The other easy option is to search for it by common name in the plant files--that will give you what you need to fill in the fields. Hope this helps! Good luck!!

Which name is the cultivar, species and that other name? LOL. I get so confused :} I've looked at other trades list they are different then the one that shows up for me. They probably are older. Right? The format has changed. AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! I guess Im just to tired. Will let it go for tonight. Maybe I will not care after all!! Thanks HG! Ronna

What you are doing is hand entering your own plants and images instead of finding the plant in PlantFiles.
If you click on my trade list, the ones I want, you can see that by clicking on either the plant name or the plant image takes you directly to the PF for that plant. I added it by scrolling down to the bottom of the PF listing and clicked on "Click here to add this plant to your want-list". Adding them that way still allows you to add your own notes and your own image if you want to change it from the default image.
I see that you did add a couple in this manner to your Haves list as they are directly linked to their PF pages.

Oh and if you want to know what certain garden terms mean, go to the Guides and Information tab above and then click on the Gardenology link. There you can type in any garden related word and get the meanings for them.

Thanks you Calif_Sue. I was very frustrated at the time. But now I understand what you are saying thanks for that! Ronna
