I have two nice pups of Illustrus for trade before they get two big and am looking to expand my EE collection. Currently have common EE (esculenta), Black Stem, Borneo Giant and Illustrus. I let my Illustrus go dormant for the winter and they do quite well. Hopefully looking for two trades, but do have some smaller pups coming on if there is more interest.
Will post a pic later today.
Have: EE Illustrus for trade
For anyone reading who doesn't know what EE is, it means elephant ear plants.
When you say that you let the illustis 'go dormant', do you mean that you do not dig it up?
I keep mine in pots, stop watering when the temps drop in the fall near frost, then put inside around the time of the first frost. They go into my basement, which stays around 50 degrees (estimate, never measured it) and come back out in May. I never unpot them. I do this with both esculenta and Illustrus. Have not tried this with Black Stem or Borneo Giant yet. May try with bg this year.
