Need ID on Cat

Huntsville, AL(Zone 7a)

Hi! I was watching a juvie Cardinal in the garden and it grabbed a big 'ol fat green worm... too big for it to keep. Now I need to know if it is a friend or foe. It is currently crawling around on my shorts leg while I am busily searching out its identity - to no avail. This is the only pic I can find online that looks like him (and I'll apologize in advance for not obtaining permission of the owner to post here).

Can you help, please? TIA

Definitely a Sphinx moth caterpillar...but which one is the question. Am not familiar with Florida moths perhaps Mel or someone in Florida will hop over and give the right answer.

I'm guessing a Tersa or Pluto. This is a photo of the Tersa cat. This photo has a brown morph and green morph. There is also a purplish colored morph.

Thanks, TPP. I thought it might be a Hummingbird Moth cat and read that it burrows under soil to pupate, so I released it back into the garden after dark. Hope I did the right thing! The Sphinx Moth is so pretty. Maybe I'll get lucky and see it when it ecloses.
Thanks again.
