A few from Southeast Texas

Nederland, TX(Zone 9a)

Well, we are getting ready for Gustav. I just hope it spares us but if it does it will devastate someone else which is not good at all. On the bright side I have a few blooms in this sweltering 100 plus degree heat index day. I just hope my babies are here next week at this time.

Enjoy!

First up is "Pride of Acadiana" Sporting massibe blooms. I usually see 4 to 6 blooms per day from this bush.

Love seeing your Pride of Acadiana bush! Stay safe keeping my fingers crossed that you're not hit by Gustav and your hibbies will be okay too!

those are absolutely beautiful! Do you do cuttings of them?

Crossing my fingers that the storm misses you (and all our other friends down on the Gulf coast)!

Those are all gorgeous--I especially like Mission and Black Voodoo.

Thanks all,

I am waiting for cooler weather and wanting to see more blooms! All of these plants and so few blooms :-( Between the massive rains and extreme heat I have lost a few of my babies. Well, I think they need some A/C too but thats going a little to far (LOL) We are keeping our fingers crossed here too. Going to roll down the sides at the Gh's tomorrow or should I say whats left of them LOL I think I am down to about 1 1/2 houses now (LOL) I have just decided to let this hurricane season go by before I do anything major to them. They are still standing serving their purpose so I'll let them be for now.

Praying for your safety Robert. I can't imagine what you are going through. I complain when I have to move a few dozen pots but at least I can move them. A whole GH full would have me befuddled.

Frilly Dilly is awesome, what cute, ruffly petaloids on that one.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I also like your Frilly Dilly Hibiscus. Really cute. Stay safe Robert. I can't imagine playing the waiting game, but still feeling the need to prepare, no matter where the hurricane is going to hit land. Safety first.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Mine used to look like that, but now, they are so, so, so sad :)

I hope you aren't being deluged with rain water again, Cat. Will be thinking about all of you in the path of the hurricanes and the rains they leave behind.

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Beautiful pics, Robert!!! Can't pick a favorite ;-)

I sure hope you are okay with this hurricane. I know it hit a bit west of New Orleans, but I'm not sure how close that is to you.

Cat, I know you've had your handful with weather too :-(

My thoughts are with both of you in this yucky hurricane season...
