Help: my neighbour wants to brdd her dog!!!

Lilburn, GA

Hi,

I am trying to find a link/article/info on what is involved in dog breeding.

My neighbour is planning on breeding her dog. She has a lovely Australian Sheppard who is 4 now.

The problems are:

1)she and her husband spend all day out. The dog is always alone and I take her out to play with my dog, as I feel very sorry for her. During the weekends it is even worse.

2)My neighbour works full time and is out until 11pm on two days of the week.

3)She had a back surgery and is in constant pain. She can't bend or move well.

4)She thinks the dog will take complete care of the puppies and she will not have to do any additional work.

5)She thinks that she will keep the dog and puppies in the kitchen, in a box and they will stay there.

6)She has no idea of the noise that little puppies make, especially if they are hungry.

7)She has no idea she will have to bottle feed them and clean up their mess.

8)She thinks that she will keep one baby and make good money out of the other puppies. She does not understand that most people want a pure bred dog from a licenced breeder and she may be stuck with the puppies and have to give them away or to the pound.

I don't think she is suited to this work. She can't even clean her dog's mess as she doesn't like the look of poop.

I think she is just selfish. There are so many dogs that need help. She says she wants a continuation of her dog. They even go on holidays for 2 weeks and leave the dog alone. My other neighbour and I are left to feed her, clean and play with her.

So... if anyone knows of a good link etc... that will show her the amount of work involved in breeding, she may change her mind.

thank you.:o)
