I've been picking Dill heads every week for a month.
So I guess it's Tea Time.
Got Dill
Or pickling time!
I have 14 pints of Dill pickles on the shelf.
I was at an Indian restaurant where they coated them with a light sugar coating and had them out as after-dinner mints. They were astonishingly good!
I will try making some sugar coated, let you know how they turn out.
Did they look like they coated with a white power sugar or a clear syrup, then dried?
If I had to make it, I'd probably mist with water, roll in powdered sugar, and lay them out to dry. It was powdery.
Hey, do dill seeds need a cold period? I wanted to plant some for fall harvest and wondered if I need to use last year's or this year's.
Brigid, I've had fennel seed done that way at Indian restaurants, but not dill...
I've seen fennel seed coated with a candy coating like an M&M shell, and I've also seen it with a lighter coating of something sugary, or just in a dish with colored sugar (like you'd sprinkle on iced cookies).
