Hi Guys,
Have any of you started Bromaliad's from seed, as in getting the seed out of the flower and all? I want to try it but I am not sure what is the "seed".
Here is a pic can any of you help with telling me if you see a seed there?????
Thanks my friends,
Debi
I need help to find the seeds from the old flower?
Hi All,
I was told that it takes about 5 years to get 10cm plant?
If thats the case then I will keep the pups and not worry about seeds.
Debi
Hi Debi, I am not familiar with growing Broms from seed, and different types of broms, have different types of seed, so its hard to say with your pics. You could try sowing them anyway, but I have the feeling they need to dry out a bit more yet! I could be wrong though! Good luck mate.

Hey Sue,
Where have you been?
I have missed you heaps!! Maybe we have just crossed over at times. LOL.
I was told that they do have to dry out more, but I am not very good at patience.
I like to see my results a little quicker than that, LOL.
Sue would you know what this plant is (not a brom)?? It looks like it needs to be staked, so I need to know what it is and how to look after it correctly because the stems hang down with the weight of the rossette's on the top.
Your Friend,
Debi
I'm not sure Debi, might be an Aeonium or a Crassula? Try KK, you know shes a whizz with succulents! If its dangling, that might be its nature, or it might not be getting enough light to stay short and compact. Why not take a cutting and try the new plant in a bit more light (once established) to see if it helps to keep it compact. Good luck
Sue
Debi - the seed is the elongated item (on the right). These may not be viable - good seed is typically a bit fatter and brown (at least for the Bromelioideae, i.e. Aechmeas, billbergias, Neoregelias, ...)
Some plants set seed freely, some don't.
