Just fell, ouch.

I did what I am always careful not to do. I cut up a watermelon and took out the trash. The trash can had gotten some water in it so it was dripping off of the bag. I DIDN'T SEE THAT. I slipped hard. SO glad I didn't hit my head on the granite or hurt myself worse. I hurt all over. I think I am healed enough after surgery not to worry much with that.

I wish I hadn't done that. Scary too with my problem with vertigo. I will keep a phone close in case I have to call Fred. Don't you all wish you could rewind time sometimes... Then not have something happen???

Sally, I have been dealing with vertigo off and on for the past 11 years. Last night I was reading on this site called hystersisters.com and read that vertigo may be related to thyroid issues and hormones. My dr. can find no cause for it. I have been having problems lately and seem to think it may be thyroid related. I haven't had a bout of vertigo in a year and it is trying to creep back up on me. Time to look for another doctor too!
Take care and I hope you feel better!

I am on Hyster sisters all the time! Great place, SO glad I found it before my surgery!!!!!

I know what causes my dizzy problems. I had to have one of my vestibular (balance) nerves cut so now I have only one! It was surgery to my head in Houston in 1985, I was so young... That was a horrible time. We had been to billions of doctors and specialists, finally found the problem.

I slowly got better. Still hard to have only one balance nerve.

THEN, in 1992 or so I came down with Chronic Fatigue and a VERY bad probllem with my B12. Not sure what caused what. Anyway, AGAIN, I saw many doctors for years. VERY sad they didn't know because I got vertigo again, daily, then I had to be in bed most the time with that and severe exhaustion. This was a horrible time for years again.

FINALLY I found a doc. that easily found that I had NO B12 in my blood. Damages your nerves and NOT good for the brain. THEN a nutritionist with a PHd in Chronic Fatigue did the work that helped me. I took B12 shots and supplements of all kinds. Slowly I got better over 8 years. I am much better now, but I do have to be careful not to get hot or overdo or over tired.

I still take B12 pills under my tongue, there is one there now, ha. I see a wonderful doctor in Kerrville for my CFS. She is wonderful.

LONG story, just to tell you I do know the cause.

I am all better after that fall, except my back hurts once in a while, just a muscle though. I would hate to fall and be really old. I will keep taking my calcium, D, etc!!!

Hi Sally,

Have just seen this post. I hope you are feeling all right by now.

You are lucky to have found someone to treat your CFS. My doctor just said she has no idea of any treatments when I asked who could help me.

I also have thyroid problems and most of doctors completely ignore it. You have to find someone that is willing to check the TSH, T3 and T4 levels. I have been waiting sice February to have them chekced and will have a blood test next week.

All the best to you.XXX

Yes, I have my Thyroid checked once in a while also. You can have your B12 level checked. That would have saved me years of sad problems. VERY simple.

Sally, just read about your fall. I hope you are feeling better by now. It's good that you have a doctor that is knowledgeable about your condition. It's a shame that it takes so long for a diagnosis. It seems that doctors brush off our complaints too easily.
