I didn't take a picture, but this morning a LOVELY marigold was absolutely covered with caterpillars. They are black and white striped (lengthwise) and have red heads. I did NOT kill them but I did shake my finger at them. Anyone know from the description what I was grudgingly merciful to?
Quick ID, please?
Brig, could it be this guy?

He's kind of striped lengthwise and widthwise.
Don't you think the finger shaking is a little severe? LOL
Could be, but these guys didn't have the tiny widthwise stripes.
(I know. I feel SO bad. I'll bring them some Baskin Robbins when I go home.)

See if you can find them on here:

No, didn't see it there, nor at http://bugguide.net/node/view/15740 (went nearly blind looking thru over 50 pages in that one! Maybe fly_girl's suggestion is right. I'll take a picture this evening if they're still there. I think they're what's been eating the sweet potato leaves, if that helps.
Something like this maybe? http://bugguide.net/node/view/73008
