What do you keep your Epis on?

Just curious.

I usually use a mix similar to all my cactus and succulents 33% potting soil/33% sand/33% pumice or my old "half n half" half potting soil/half pumice.

Most of mine are in just composted manure, and they do great. But here it is so hot that they dry out fast, so soil is not as important.

Lubbock, TX

I use African Violet soil with some sharp sand, ground clay tiles (about the size of cat litter.) and perlite.

Excellent. I know there are more out there. Fess up, or its gonna be years before another bloom happens for you.

I pretty much use the same mix for everything. A combination of Miracle Grow Potting Soil (because that's all I can find locally), lots of perlite and lots of orchid bark. A very chunky mix that drains fast. Most of my plants are out on the pool deck, the front porch and another covered deck out back. Everything gets watered with the garden hose.

Hi Lin,

My mix is similar to yours. I mix equal parts Orchid potting mix and Miracle grow. My plants hang under the trees all summer and then in a spare bedroom in the winter. They do quite well on it.
