Have Cosmo seeds for Zinnia

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Looking for tall Zinnia - giants or any tall, large flower zinnia. Have white or lavender cosmo. 1 tsp cosmo for 2 tsp zinnia - since zinnia are 3 times the size.

Kathy,
I believe there is going to be a september swap coming up for Zinnia's. You should join us. I have Zinnia's I can send to you if you would rather not get in, they are variety of colors.

Oh, I would love to get in the swap. but I hate cleaning those darn things. How do you clean them?

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

The Zinnia's I have not done it yet for the swap, when I do it for me I just take the head and all and spread it.

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

That's what I do. HOWEVER, in many trades people get really upset if you don't clean the seeds up. Like removing all the pedals and send only the seed. That's why I hate to trade with mixed groups. Some seeds are very easy to clean - not zinnia.

You better see if the trade will be for cleaned seeds or state that yours will be dried flowers but all the pedal material will still be there. Some got really mad about people sending out seeds with fluff in them - I can't think of the word for the pedals but there is a word for it.

You and I can trade and I don't care - it's all the same to me.

I am not sure who the host is on that swap, and I do so know what you mean about knowing which is seed and what isnt. I am fine with just a trade.

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

we can do that. I have giant bernard purple, profushion cherry, mixed beranrd mix. and lots of other seeds. Let me know what you want to trade and WE won't worry about the chaff - I think that's the word - not sure but who cares -as long as I have flowers.

Ok will do, I will go out today and get the Zinnia's deadheaded and get them to drying out today. I do not care what seeds you send to me, I love everything. I am in zone 7 so can grow almost anything except tropical. I dont have alot of room in the house to bring in plants to over winter them. I also have Spider flower seeds, pink and white, and purple and white. If you want some of them I can send them also.

I have tons of the cleome - spider seeds. I planted a white patch that is so pretty. When my zinnia heads dry more I'll send them out. I like all zinnia except the very tiny ones. I ordered those seeds one year thinking they were like granny use to have- but they were all of 6 inches tall at best - and very weak flowers - not the "thumbalina" or flowers I remember. I love these tall purple benards -my patch of just those stand at my head level - 5' 8" and are stunning.

I have joe pye weeds, and a few others - I'll be back in touch when I get my pictures loaded

ok great, my zinnias are about 3 to 4 ft tall tho, and 1st year to have them. Will that be ok?

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

sure
