Hey everyone!
I am looking for plants/seeds/cuttings of different tricyrtis than I have, esp. newer forms. Also looking for any tradescantia (spiderwort) with a pink flower, evergreen shade plants, pinellias, different heucheras
my trade list is not at all up to date, but I have tropicals, houseplants, perennials, annuals, just let me know what you are looking for and I'll see what I can do :) thanks so much!
Wanted: Tricyrtis, shade plants
Do you have any named hostas or heucheras?
I don't have heucheras that I'm dividing, but have a couple of hostas, honeybells, august moon, golden tiara. I do have more but my hostas don't look too great with the drought we've had
I would be able to trade a Heucheras - Melting Fire and maybe a carmel (if I don't have carmel, I can divide another)...I will have to look for the Honeybells and august moon.
Any interest?
sending you a dmail....
I have 'samurai' if you are interested. I have a few extra plants (amazing how many pups I get every year from one plant). Any idea how to harvest the seeds? I would love to if I knew how.
I'm looking to fill a full/partial sun bed this year. I wouldn't even mind a variety of seeds to get this bed filled if you have them. Gustav made my once shady tropical bed a sunny bed. I would also trade for other toad lillies I don't have.
Hi Tropicana. What varieties of tricyrtis do you have? I have enough of 3 or 4 varieties for trade, and a few more that might be big enough next year, and would like to trade for some other varieties I don't have (but would really prefer to do it in the spring, as they're flowering now and probably wouldn't transplant as well as when they're still small). Please have a look at my trade list. Thanks.
Sharon
Hi ladies, thanks for responding
While shopping for new tricyrtis I just found out about this fun fairly newly discovered virus that affects the bloom color:
http://www.perennialnursery.com/tricyrtisvirus.html
...so I think I'm gonna have to pass, but thanks....I will probably will only buy from a few informed vendors and start seeds from now on.
pieohmy, you can harvest the seed pods when they dry and the ends just barely start to open, the seeds are very fine and do take awhile to germinate. They do winter sow well, however
Oh well, c'est la vie.... I had read about the virus causing "raspberry mousse" to be "raspberry mousse" before, so had avoided buying it for that reason, and haven't noticed any changes in my tricyrtis flowers. I'd still be happy to trade tricyrtis with anyone who doesn't think their tricyrtis has a virus. Think I'll just make sure that I don't plant different varieties close together.
Thanks for the seed info. I will try it this year
