Another New Brug

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

Well this was one of the many that had me hoping..
it's aGerman Seed by Volker..Engelsglockchen X Fleur Lilac 1 Itruned around and there it had opened... and was a white... OH.. this is also the debut of my new tags...seeming as how I'd not crawel through the undergrowth.. to ID the plants I was careingfor..andsome of the most exciting ones were soon called the poor thing growing underneath... or that little one...do you think it's being overgrown by the underplanting.. and then I'd discover who it was.....they have all been brought out now.. and potted.. and placed in some of the only available areas left.. Iwanted it iD them better... so Igot some CD's and tied them on... wrote on them with a paint marker... they do catch the light nice...
here she is just opening...

Well .. it hadgot to dark to continue to shoot last night ... but in the gray morning it looked like this.. not a lilac...but it picked up alot of color in the night ... showing abit of green striping on the pink... and with tenderels that go on forever... it sure is nice.. andhad been mated with the painted lady x peanut flower pollen..

Well Thanks James...
OK.. there's time enough for everythng..so I went back up to get a sun picture... but the bloom had closed up tight...
Funny... this bloom closed up tight for the day... and others are perfectly happy to stay fully open during the day.. like this one..stil open...

What one is that called Gordon?

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

right now it's my first Engelsglockchen X Fleur Lilac 1 there's a second one to come... and an Engelsglockchen X Fleur Lilac... yet to bloom..for me... untill these are grown out... put through others growing it... and evaluation..as to it's character... suitability.. and if it differs enough from the parents.. and then a chosen name is submitted... that's submitted for approval.. and only then ... it's registered..
if this plant is used as a pod or pollen parent.. and the resulting plant is registered.. it's parentage on this side is still just listed as Engelsglockchen X Fleur Lilac 1... and not named..

They are lovely! The pink coloring is gorgeous! Can hardly wait to see Engelsglockchen X Fleur Lilac II.. how very clever with the CD plant "tags". Shiny, decorative and easy to find. Looks like you're having a grand season up there Gordon.

Ahh Gordon, thanks so much, I may just take you up on that! Week-ends are kind of bad these days, see DH loves boating, and well we only have a few more weeks of this wonderful weather, beach it is for a little while. My mom, who lives in the city, gets mad at us for not visiting when the weather is warm! SIs is never at her Brooklyn house, is always upstate on the week ends! But I'll see if I can squeeze something! Thanks, Clem

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

OH... I understand the boating... so come in the evening...afternoon...just let me know when yo'd like to make it .. and I'll see what's going on... come this afternoon... I'm redoing the foyer of the building today... I'm covering it all in cararra marble... with a few hints of alight Ming Green marble to accent parts of it in the white carrara walls... and a smattering of the ming greenin the pink quartxite stone floor... to make it kind of look like a rug ...so I'm about working out the edges of the installation today...
so... the Hawaiian double white is finally not dropping buds..seems it doesthatfor the firsrdozenor so...it's a flower...sopackedwith flowers inside... almost like ashredded white tucked into a flower.. it's all it can do to get the ruffles of the shredded white inside to come out to the edge of the outer flower....here's it's picture now... finally dropping down some....next I'll show you the opposite type of double white I have here...

Thumbnail by GordonHawk
Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

the next double white is one called Angels Moonlight.. it is a tiny outer clower...which staysup at the top.. and a long long inner flower that dropsway down... making it look like a single with a slight ruffle of white at the top of it.. sorry for the picture.. I thought I had a better one of it... but couldn't find it..so I just went and took one of an old flower... it has discolored some on the lower tips so I left it out of the picture... but you get the idea... like a single...with a ruffled top..
.. see every day it's something new... so pick a day that's good for you.. and come visit them... Gordon

Gordon your roof top garden must be fantastically fragrant. All the Burgs and flowers you have posted are so gorgeous and the city back drop is picture perfect. I have a passion for pink burgs but I absolutely love that double white. So pretty with the morning glories blooming in between the branches. I would love to see it in person and Clemen has been trying to get me to swim over to LI so we’ll see. Keep posting the photos I love to view and drool from here.

WOWWY! She is soooo pretty. I wish I was closer. Do you have a flower busines, or is this just a hobby for you? Creating new breeds of brugs? Is there a lot of cost involved, getting them registered? Sorry for so many questions, just curious.

Gordon, Fleur Lilac is so beautiful, I love pink so her color to me is fantastic. With all of those pink blooms up on that roof, I’d feel like I was in heaven.
