They are sooo cute and do look extra tiny next to those monsters;)

Oh how cute! Adorable! What are they like in the pond with the biggies? Are they timid or agressive for food? I hope that happens in my pond some day!

Aawww.....Babeeez........... They are so cute. Thank you for posting the pics. From they way mine have grown in just a few weeks they won't stay tiny for long!

MM, the babies will come looking for food. I try to throw some food in different places. It has become a feeding frenzy 4 times a day. I took some of the food and pulverized it into little pieces for them. They do learn from the adults.

The babies are hard to imagine happening in my pond. Sometimes I feel like I am climbing a "waterfall" with no end (with this pond and the fish). If it's not disease then it's a heron. It it's not a heron or disease then a fish is killed in spawning. It it's not that it always seems to be something is just lurking around the corner waiting to kill my unsuspecting fish (disease or otherwise). Today I had to put a fish down because it developed droopsy. It was my "special needs" fish that always hid away from my sight. I made my husband do the dirty work and he was sick to his stomach (we are too soft for this . . .). Thankfully it wasn't something contagious but from the initial lack of oxygen during transportation (package got lost at the airport for an extra day and the fish shipment had a few casualties and a lot of "special needs" fish from lack or oxygen). I knew the risks when I adopted this fish but felt I could deal with any illness that might occur from this event. WRONG! Again, I learned yet another lesson the hard way.
