Can anybody id it for me.

I agree, a hydrangea. I have one with a very similiar flower except mine is white. It grows in filtered shade and gets fairly large.

There are some viburnums that look very much like that (hydrangea aspera), maybe viburnum tomentosa or the variety Onandaga.

definitely a tomentosum...available at lazy s farm...with a name like prague in it.....le tme look it up ...geesh...the brain cant remember.
