As long as you don't cut on both with the same knlfe no big deal
ok thanks.... brian said it might also spread by insects.... what do you think?
It's a different virus if indeed that is a virus, and Colocasia isn't listed as a host, but I still wouldn't use the same cutting tool on both without sterilizing between cuts. The Frangipani Mosaic Tobamovirus is "Transmitted by means not involving a vector. Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation"; so it's not spread by insects: http://image.fs.uidaho.edu/vide/descr345.htm
ok good! I'm so glad its probably a different one! .... But that doesn't change that I had to kill half of my elephant ears... Oh sadness.
I've been using single edge razor blades for my orchids, one for each plant. Works if you don't have too many plants to deal with. I pick them up at Harbor Freight here, fairly inexpensive by the hundred. I use a torch on my cutters also, but with the blades, no chance of spreading.
I am so sorry about your elephant ears, but I did want to say congrats on your name change. He gives us all a new name.

I'm very sorry too, Trent.
That's a great idea, Sally.
thanks, jackie and thanks everyone for your sympathy...lol
