A walk through my garden today

Watertown, NY

Last week we had a very bad wind storm which blew three of my brugs over with the tops landing on a neighbors driveway. When my neighbor came home she just ran right over my plants. I was sick when I got home and saw them crushed into her drive way. She had been telling me how much they enjoy seeing all of my flowers. Well no more. I was so mad I moved every plant into the back yard which has created a clutter, but what a beautiful clutter.

Here are a few pictures of what I have in bloom today.

This is an orange versi which has huge dark orange blooms and blooms non stop all summer.

Wow such gorgeous plants, thank you for letting me see what some of mine will look like when they grow up.
What a mean neighbor, ya think she could have pick them up. I know I would have.

Miss Emily Mckensie, is that how you spell it, I usuallu just write MEM. She has to be against the house she is so tall and has a thin trunk. I don't want her to get broken with the wind.

It looks like all we have is pink brugs which is far from the truth, guess they just caught my eue this morning. We have many yellow and white brugs blooming too.

Real Lovely Brenda
all happy and performing.there... this is the time of year it's all for ...for us northern growers... it's such a joy now.. perfumed air...hanging blooms... could you stand it if this all started in March and went to January.. I'd be beside myself ..
I really.. like the velvet pink.. it has.. it seems ...a hint of lilac in it's coloring... it would seem from the photo.. but that's up to the read of the camera.. light...and on...does it seem like that to you... there...
I'd love to have a bit of pollen fromt if you could pull some for me....

Beautiful flowers, Brenda, but Velvet Rose really caught my eye. Love the color and the fact it extends all the way up.

What a neighborly thing to do! Can't she see, shouldn't be driving then!

So glad you are getting blooms Brenda, mine keep falling off, it is so hot & dry here for over a month. Some of my ornimental trees look like they are dieing, due to the lack of water, they are over 75 ft from the house and I won't carry water that far.

My God Gloria... let me tell you of a new invention.. the garden hose... ask about .. we all have them.. get a 100ft hose....Gordon

I had the problem last year Gloria, I just bought another hose. I drag hoses every day, I keep one at the half way point and just connect when I need more.

Your blooms are gorgeous! That IS a gorgeous pink on Velvet Rose. Sorry bout your neighbor. We must remember, everyone isn't as plant conscious as we are, but still, I'd agree she knew what they were. And she knows how much energy and time you spend with them, serves her right she doesn't get to see the pretty anymore.
