Mealy Bugs

How can I get rid of mealy bugs?

I had some on my greenhouse plants early spring, and tried to get rid of them. Now my outdoor plants have tons of mealy bugs on them, and I want to be able to take some of them inside for the winter. How do i get rid of them, and what can I use to control them in the greenhouse, besides using a Q-tip dipped in alcohol.

Wash 'em off and spray with an insecticidal soap? I have birds in the greenhouse and won't use anything stronger than that (and isopropyl).

I've tried the insecticidal soap...and it doesn't keep them down. There are way to many to wash them off.

Any other ideas???

A systemic insecticide, and Neem.

That combo usually does the trick, here.

yeah .... sounds like you will definitely need to go systemic.

Never used Neem, but only hear good things about it.

I find that I need to use the insecticidal soap regularly to keep the bugs at bay.

What is a good easy to find over the counter systemic I could use?

Look for the active ingredient, imidacloprid.
