What variety?

Any that come back every year. The regular tulips here die after a year or so. These just keep on !!

debbie look for any type of species tulips - most of the catalogues and web sellers should have them available now. There are lots of different kinds.

I planted "Pinocchio" (a Greigii) a few years ago, and it has come back reliably. It's red with a white edge.

I thought the Darwins were supposed to come back dependably too.

darwin hybrids do come back for a long time, species tulips are more perenial though.

Would trade for Darwin's too!!!

I've had Greigii tulip 'Toronto' for ten years; they were planted before I moved here. They're about played out, so I have gone out and bought some more. They're the most lovely coral; I fell in love with them in the Netherlands.

Try John Scheepers for Greigiis. They list their tulips in categories.

I like species tulips, too; some prosper here and some don't. Bakerii, a lilac, still persists, and clusiana, short with tall rose-and-white blooms, is very reliable.
