Naughty Nick, Gorgeous brug!!!!

Watertown, NY

I know there are those who have heard me say I am not crazy about double brugs. Well this one has me changing my mind. This plant is about 16 feet tall, i am on a 6 foot ladder, I didn't dare use the higher ladder sine I am home alone and it is a bit shakey. The skirt from one is missing, i had to get pollen last night and dust it with some in return.

Thank You Brenda Delph for this wonderful creation.

Oh my, he is just fantastic; please tell us your secrets. How did you get him to 16 ft in NY?

Yes do tell!!!

My NN is blooming just in time to get blown over by T.S. Fay. Picked up blooms from the ground and put them in water in the house. Good old "lemonade" on a stormy day...and it's just now starting here. Phooey...bunches on the ground where they will stay until it's over. Can you say "early fall haircuts"?

Oh Ginger, that is really awful for you, hope the storm is not to bad and the loses are minimal.

It is getting much darker orange through the day, I will post another picture later when my husband gets home to hold the tall ladder.

Thanks...no matter how bad it gets it could likely be worse. Plants can be replaced.

That's a pretty one Brenda, sure hope they don't all have to be 6 ft. before blooming, as I'll never get one that tall.

It has been so hot & dry, all my buds keep falling. If they don't get their act together, I'll not see any blooms before having to dig all and bring inside for the winter!

Gloria, you have had no blooms? That is terrible with all the plants you have.

Naughty Nick likes to go, it has grown 10 feet this summer. We are air layering the top branches off so we can get it back in the house. We have huge growth this summer on everything.

My husband and I are about to go out and see if we think any more will have to be done so we can get them in. Lots of very tall brugs here.

Great reoprt ... it's nice to hear of them doing so well there.. is sounds like it has been a cool moist summer... a la the mountains of Panama... where many grow so in the wild..
or was it your banana/recipe breakfast treats.. was NN a white before feeding it bananas..
keep up the great work.. Gordon
