This has been my project for the last few weeks. I work on it whenever I have a little free time - it's very relaxing! All that's left is to make the chimney, clean up the roof and do a color wash on the stucco. I'm hoping that with enough polyurethane it will be okay outside. I'm getting lots of landscaping ideas for it on this forum - so many beautiful tiny gardens!
Almost done with my fairy house
Very, very nice!
I especially love the stained glass windows and LOVE that front door!!

How very beautiful!!! You did a wonderful job! I love it!
That is just the cutest thing!! Great details!
That is really adorable.
missy, I meant to ask before, what did you use to make the grass-looking roof?
Edited for better description

That is really looking good and the fairies will love it! So glad you're sharing your progress with us.
Thank you to everyone for your kind words. Sundownr, my "thatch" roof is balsa wood that I wire brushed.
Really!!! I would never have guessed that in a dozen years! Well, it is a great thatch look on the roof. I love the whole little house.
Thanks for posting the pics so we could watch your progress, too!
Missy-
Looking great!!
Is that blue star creeper, or babies tears under the fairy house in that last picture?
Did you make those stones?
-T
T, those are baby's tears, which grow like a weed in my side yard. I did make the stones - it's a sheet of paperclay that I rolled out and stuck on the chimney, then I used an orange stick to form the stones.
I've never heard of paperclay...
you are doing a really nice job. I love it :0)
What are your plans after you finish?...any people, fairies, or outdoor dollhouse accessories in the plans?
-T
Thank you, Seedpicker. When it's finished, it will go into the garden. I'm going to try to landscape around it with some tiny plants. I'm making a trip to M & M nursery next week to see what they have in the way of accessories, and I'm hoping to get some inspiration when I get there!
Oh, I'm jealous, already..They are such a cool nursery for miniature lovers.
I'm sure you're going to come back with all kinds of neat stuff. :0)
I tried to talk them into shipping, but they said no.
very nice job!
Missy - I have to admit, that's the best looking fairy house I've ever seen! What an original idea, and one-of-a-kind materials. Of course, I'm partial to English cottages. I've started packing my bags - let me know when I can move in! LOL!
Thanks, Primrose Sue. Unfortunately, it was not an original idea - I had a picture and I copied it. I'm not very creative, but I can copy anything! I finished the house just in time - my friend's birthday was today, and she begged me for it, and so I gave it to her for the occasion. Here's a photo of the finished product.
I have come up with a design for another one, and I'll be starting on that next week.
missy, you have such a fine eye for detail (copy or not)!! Beautiful work!
Hey, we all liked it too, and would have begged you for it, LOL!!
Lucky, lucky friend!!!
Bev
It is perfect, just gorgeous. You are a great friend to let her have your house.
You did a fantastic job! :0)
So, did you ever make it to M&M nursery?
-T
T, I never made it to M&M. I'm taking a friend with me, and I'm waiting for her to find time in her schedule. One of these days we'll make it over there.
Does anyone know where I can order UV protection spray for fairies etc?
home improvement or hardware stores, or hobby stores.
I have looked at Lowes and H. Depot. Guess I can call Micheals. I know we have talked about it before, I forgot where to order. I started a topic, but I was hoping to get a place to order quickly.
