Cloudless Sulphur Cat

Tucson, AZ(Zone 9a)

I was soooo excited to find this guy the other day. I'd planted my senna back in the spring and was wondering if it would EVER do anything. Well, not only did it finally take off and grow, but it finally brought me what I was waiting for :)

And then yesterday...

And then..today :)

Now...can I safely take that chrysalis and put it into a cat house, or will it get hurt in the move? It looks so delicate.

Can you take part of the branch? That would be the simplest way.

Yeah, even when I pin the chrysalids at the museum I tend to cut the part of the plant they're on and pin the stem or leaf and not even bother with the silk. Sulphurs aren't too bad, but White Peacocks make very little silk. Sulphurs are so much fun - I love how you can see the yellow right before they come out.

Oh yes, I definitely could take the branch. That is what I was planning on doing, but I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't disturb it at all. Great, thanks :)
