I would like to trade for some different colors I only have the white ones.
White moon flower seed
I have a ??? about moon vines. I have some growing wild in my backyard by the edge of the woods. These are white too, but have a reddish-purple throat. They have really dark green leaves kind of shaped like a real sharp V. Not a round heart shape. Do you know if this is a moon vine and if so, what kind??? I have tried to get a few seeds but I'm not sure if I let them mature enough. I will get more and if so, would you like some? Or do you think they'd do ok to mail a plant?
Thanks, Traci S
I sent you an email. Welcome, to Dave's. Debby
I really thought that the name "Moonvine" applied to only one thing, Ipomoea alba, which is white and opens at night.
Someone sent me seeds earlier this year for something they called a "purple moonvine", but since it has not flowered for me, I don't know what color it is or whether it opens at night, or in the early morning, like the other Ipomoeas do (morning glories). Traci, I don't know what info Debby gave you, since she didn't post it here, but what you describe sounds like what's commonly called wild sweet potato, Ipomoea pandurata. I've never been able to find seeds on these. What did the pod look like, how many seeds were inside, etc?
