New doe is here

Columbia, TN(Zone 7b)

Her official name is Silent Angel. She'll just be Angel to us. The goat mafia (aka Bonnie and Milly) started right in attacking her. She holds her ground but they do wear other goats down.
I tried to get some pictures but it was late and her eyes reflected the flash in an unbecoming way so I'll have to try again.
Angel will be bred to Chip around mid October so she'll have March babies. At the end of October Bonnie will be bred to him if she looks to be in good health.
Angel is a fullbred (100% boer) and half sister to the goat Mafia.

Molly I do believe you have GF(goat fever!!) you know, there is no cure!!
Love the name! Can't wait to see your Angel! Ooooo babies in March-can't wait for those pics too! I love when the babies sit your lap, chewing on your hair! Sorry daydreaming over here...

Thanks Sue and Claire. Angel and the others were lined up at the fence next to the boys this morning. ^_^ it was so funny to see my boys drooling over Angel. 4 month old Huck is doing the goat equivalent of "hey baby where have you been all my life"! LOL Yesterday all 3 intact males where bunched up in a space about 12" across trying to get a peek at her while Sammy the wether was in the background asking "aren't we going to play again?" . He just didn't get it.
Sue goat fever is bad here between me and Paul. He doesn't know it yet but there are two more does joining us in the near future. He thinks it's only one. I was at Jim's and we were out in the field looking for brides for my boys when this little fullbred kept wanting me to scratch her head. She was a little beauty but half related to the boys so she can't mate with them. Ended up getting her for Chip :-) We're just going to have to find girls for the boys at a different goat farm to get them unrelated. So #69 and #76 will be joining us once the new area is fenced in and a shelter is built. The boys are going into the new area and these doelings into the smaller area till they're big enough to face my goat mafia LOL. The doelings are 5 and 6 months old. They won't be bred till next year.
Going out to get pictures now.

lol! You know you have to bring them home when they come up and 'choose' you! Instant kinship!
Hey, Molly do you put up any toys for the boys to play with? A friend of mine would suspend a small tire from a tree for her male to bat around-kept him out of trouble!

Thanks TF!

Sue you are so right. What else can you do when they choose you?
The boys have a large rock pile and a dog house (really big) that they like to plan in. Also another dog kennel tied to a tree for them to jump on. I heard of someone who collected those empty phone company wire spools. Used two with planks across (screwed down I assume) for the kids to play on. I keep hoping to find a used kids playset that I can modify for them.
We're waiting for them to go into the bigger area to add more toys for them. I like the idea of a tire. Hang it with small link chain so they don't get their horns caught in it.
Thanks!

Great to hear, Molly, that you're having fun with Angel, given your situation with Hercule. I'm glad you have something to keep your spirits up.

I can't wait to see those pictures!

I am so busy this weekend Claire I still haven't done the pictures. As you say I'm worried about Hercule and I've got a zillion things to do this weekend (including 30 people for an auction/picnic at 9 am and a wedding at 1 pm Saturday!!) that I haven't done much with Angel besides trying to get her use to us and the other goats.
